The Chobrang is Herat's answer to the great Kazak tradition of the Caucasus — bold geometry, unapologetic colour, and a compositional intelligence that needs no explanation. This particular piece opens in a field of deep cobalt, the kind of blue that tribal weavers have been reaching for across centuries, and builds upward through a green central medallion panel framed by ivory cartouches and anchored by a crimson border thick with repeating motifs.

Wool knotted onto a cotton foundation at 110 knots per square inch — dense enough to hold a sharp line, soft enough to live with. A small carpet, but not a quiet one.
