Animal & Insect Prints
A praying mantis held still on the page long enough to count its legs. A golden oriole, a white stork, the corals William Saville-Kent painted on the Great Barrier Reef. Hand-coloured plates from the great age of natural history, drawn when looking hard at an animal was the whole job.
The same naturalist's eye runs through the botanical prints, turned from plants to creatures. A single bird over a desk, or a whole wall of them.
