Big Cat Encounters Book

Set in the hill state of Uttarakhand in India, this book is a collection of real life accounts of the author's decades-long experience with encountering man-eaters. He shares valuable insights about the habits and behaviour of leopards and their adaptability in the face of increasing human encroachment. Along with his observational skills and fieldwork, he also weaves in the ground reality - an urgent need to understand the changing habitat of leopards and manage the increasing numbers of cases of human-wildlite conflict in the state. There is an urgent need to address the larger question — the irony of an increasing number of wild cats and depleting forest cover - and how we can protect their habitat and abstain from venturing into their natural habitat in the name of development.
